On 6 October,2014, Media Foundation of Sparkasse Leipzig awarded its Prize
for the Freedom and Future of the Media to Afghan journalist Farida
Nekzad as well as to Roland Jahn, Aram Radomski, Siegbert Schefke and
Christoph Wonneberger, protagonists of the Peaceful Revolution 1989 in
Leipzig. The festive event took place at Media Campus Villa Ida of the Media Foundation. This year's Leipzig Speech on Media and Press Freedom was held by Thomas Bellut, director of Second German Television (ZDF).
