Media Foundation supports VISIONALE LEIPZIG for the 20th time with 5,000 euros.
Leipzig, 25 November 2025. This year,Media Foundation of Sparkasse Leipzig is once again supporting VISIONALE LEIPZIG with 5,000 euros for the film festival of the same name. "Supporting VISIONALE is one of our most long-standing sponsorships, alongside our own projects such as our 'Prize for the Freedom and Future of Media'," explains Stephan Seeger, Managing Director of Media Foundation. "We have been continuously supporting Saxony's oldest media competition for children, teenagers, and young adults since 2006, with a total of 100,000 euros to date," Seeger continues. The Media Foundation's funding is earmarked for project work and awarding prizes in the "Media Starter" competition category. VISIONALE 2025, including the awards ceremony, will take place on 30 November 2025 at the Schauspiel Leipzig (Bosestraße 1, 04109 Leipzig) from 13 to 18 o'clock, admission is free.
About VISIONALE LEIPZIG
VISIONALE LEIPZIG has been held annually since 1991. It is organized by the Leipzig Media Education Working Group in cooperation with the Leipzig Theatre and the University of Leipzig. At its core, VISIONALE consists of the VISIONALE Competition, the VISIONALE Annual Program, and the VISIONALE Media Festival. The competition invites children, teenagers, and young adults up to the age of 26 from all over Saxony to submit their media productions in the categories "Media Starters," "School Makes Media," and "Media Makers." The Annual Program is aimed at participants with little to no experience in media production. They can participate in media workshops offered specifically for VISIONALE. The Media Festival at the Leipzig Theatre always takes place in November and is the highlight of VISIONALE LEIPZIG. All guests and participants have the opportunity to view, try out, or listen to the selected entries.
