The media sector faces real challenges, today more than ever: Increasing digitisation is changing traditional patterns of media use. Anyone wishing to master and play a part in shaping these changes needs networked knowledge about how the old and the new media work. Life-long learning becomes crucial in order to constantly be a match for all the actual demands in practice. In this changing media world, the LEIPZIG SCHOOL OF MEDIA acts as a centre of excellence to prepare those working in the media for new developments.

The LEIPZIG SCHOOL OF MEDIA – gemeinnützige Gesellschaft für akademische Weiterbildung mbH (LSM) is a 100 % subsidiary of the Media Foundation of the Sparkasse Leipzig. The purpose and objective of the LSM is beginners’ and advanced training in the field of media, the promotion of science and research and scientific training and advanced training, combined with covering the economic and social need for continued professional development qualifications at a high technical level.

In cooperation with the University of Leipzig and the Leipzig College of Technology, Business and Culture (HTWK), LSM currently offers three continued professional development masters’ courses which combine academic background knowledge with practical know-how. The courses are interdisciplinary in nature and combine information from the specialist areas of journalism, media technology, information technology, media law and media management to form a comprehensive training complex. The LSM continued professional development courses are offered under the name of the Masterprogramm Medien Leipzig.

The LEIPZIG SCHOOL OF MEDIA also offers a range of seminars and workshops which enable fast access to practical medial knowledge and develop solution-oriented approaches.
