“Axel Eggebrecht Prize 2010” goes to Richard Goll and Alfred Treiber

The 10.000 € “Axel Eggebrecht Prize 2010”, donated for the second time by the Media Foundation of the Sparkasse Leipzig, is directed to authors, who have devoted an oeuvre of weight in terms of content and acoustic creativity to the radio genre “Feature”.

This time, the award equally acknowledges the life work of the two Vienna authors Richard Goll and Alfred Treiber, who have uniquely rendered outstanding services to the introduction, implementation and the development of the “Feature”, which can be regarded as the “prime genre of the radio”, within the Austrian broadcasting.

Announcement: Promotion Prize of Bibliology 2010

Modern bibliology is closely connected to the science site and “book city” of Leipzig. The “Promotion Prize of Bibliology” emphasizes this importance by annually awarding a degree thesis which is sufficient for the highest scientific demands and which is an innovatively productive contribution to its discipline.

The 2.500 Euro award is carried out by the Media Foundation of the Sparkasse Leipzig together with the Institute of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Leipzig. The prize is awarded in memory of Prof. Dr. theol. Dr. phil. Dietrich Kerlen who significantly contributed to the building up and the making of mark of bibliology in Leipzig between 1995 and 2004.
