Feature author Helmut Kopetzky was awarded the “Axel Eggebrecht Prize” for radio features in a ceremony at the “Villa Ida Media Campus” in Leipzig on Sunday. The award was presented by Dr. Harald Langenfeld, Foundation Chairman. Donated by the Media Foundation of Sparkasse Leipzig, the €10,000 prize is awarded in recognition of Kopetzky’s life work. The “Axel Eggebrecht Prize” for radio features is awarded every two years, alternating with the “Günter Eich Prize” for radio plays, which is also donated by the Media Foundation of Sparkasse Leipzig.
